Holy Nation(s) at Redeemer Church
Holy Nations at Redeemer Church
by Josh Caudill
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession...."
Peter offers these words of encouragement in his first letter (1 Peter 2:9a). Through Christ, our divisions are broken down, and we are united. Not only are we united, we are holy and chosen. Through Jesus' life and death, we can set aside all the things that might separate us and come together under the banner of Jesus.
And then, Peter asks us to divide again. We are united in Christ, and this comes with a calling to go out into the world: "Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God..." (1 Peter 2:12a).
We gather, and then we scatter. We are a holy nation, even when we separate for the cause of our calling as members of God's kingdom.
At Redeemer, this happens through our Regroups. Regroups are the heartbeat of our church. There, you will find intentional fellowship, deep community, spiritual support, and honest conversation. Sometimes we play Uno, sometimes we weep for injustice. But all of it is saturated with prayer and an awareness that whenever we gather, we are gathering as a holy nation.
How have you felt the power of this calling in your experience in Regroups? Have you connected with one of our Regroups? We urge you to join us.
Grace & Peace
