Children in Focus

by David Kingery

Last week Jacob wrote about the importance of finishing strong with regard to our Christmas Presence end-of-year giving emphasis. I completely agree and want to share some thoughts about our kids’ needs. Kheva and I have been at Redeemer a little over a year and our perspective is driven by our participation in Breakout. When we started helping in Breakout, we had seven or eight children in grades 1 through 5. Several months ago we adjusted the ages in Breakout to grades 1 through 3, and we currently have around 14 children each week. So even by reducing the age range, we are running twice what we were a year ago, which is amazing. We have the opportunity to reach more and more children for Jesus! However, we desperately need more space. The area where we currently meet for Breakout is really too small for average attendance, let alone the addition of weekly newcomers.

Please be in prayer about your strong giving finish for 2016 as well as your giving plan for 2017. Our ability to have a generous and inviting space for our children is vital! Also, be in prayer about getting involved in teaching our children.

"But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." -Luke 18:16
"And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them." -Mark 10:16

Thank you for your commitment to the Lord and Redeemer Church!

Merry Christmas!
